industrial relations

North Construction has been continuously involved in the building and construction industry on the Central Coast, in the Hunter region and on Sydney’s north side since 1987. North Constructions Industrial Relations record over this time is exceptional.

In our view, this record is a direct product of our philosophy that people respond in kind to the manner in which they are treated.  We have always endeavoured to treat both our own employees and subcontractors equitably and with dignity and this has been repaid in kind.

We respect a person’s right to be a member of the relevant trade union but we do not insist on that membership. Sub-contractors that we engage generally follow that same principle.

IR matters, on the rare occasion that they may arise, are handled where at all possible by the project supervisor on a direct basis with either the employees involved or other relevant party.

North Constructions development of a Vision, Mission and Values statement is communicated to all staff. We strive to achieve strong relationships with our employees, clients, subcontractors and suppliers alike. Our company values underpin these strong relationships and are a significant factor in our ability to maintain our industrial relations record.
